its so disgusting that once again the US has gotten away with cruelly abusing these poorer nations. Why did they need to unleash this devastating flood on millions of innocent civilians? Could it be for OIL?

September 8th, 2008 at 12:32 am
sometimes it seems like that doesnt it, doesnt anyone ever thank us for our great achievements? half the world would die by age 20 if we didnt medicate or feed them.
September 8th, 2008 at 12:47 am
As a man, casting off worn-out garments, taketh new ones, so the dweller in the body, casting off worn-out bodies, entereth into others that are new…For sure is the death of him that is born, and sure the birth of him that is dead; therefore over the inevitable though shouldst not grieve.
September 8th, 2008 at 7:08 am
asspirate, Sir, you are a megaignorant, megamoron! congratulations!
September 8th, 2008 at 7:44 am
Waddup, are you serious right now? A Tsunami is a natural disaster and the flood was a result of it. It may be hard to believe, but not everything this country does is for oil.
September 8th, 2008 at 10:23 am
waddup is serious all the way. like me.
September 8th, 2008 at 5:02 pm

asspirate ! U disgust me - grow up theres a time and place for humor - this isnt
September 14th, 2008 at 6:54 pm
im pretty surprised by the insensitivity several comments ive read. id hope that they were posted by kids at least under 14 who MAY not understand what goes on in the world today. anyways, its an inexplicably sad photo
September 14th, 2008 at 9:52 pm
“therefore over the inevitable though shouldst not grieve.”
I believe that anyone human should grieve over this.
September 14th, 2008 at 11:07 pm

for God’s sake, that wasn’t Thailand…it was Indonesia
September 19th, 2008 at 2:31 pm
Yup that is Indonesia. It is in Acheh, west of Indonesia province. Its population was 200.000. Now it’s just a half.
September 19th, 2008 at 3:24 pm
És tan impressionant aquesta imatge. Som fràgils, molt fràgils…
September 23rd, 2008 at 3:37 pm
I will never forget TV news those days - nature showed who rules here, unfortunately…
September 25th, 2008 at 11:42 am
in response to waddup’s assertion that many citizens of poorer nations would die young without american charity in the form of food and medical services…this is true. however i do not think the united states can take credit for this, as every year far more money is sent to the us in debt payments by these nations than is received in charity. so if you really want to help…forgive their debts.
September 25th, 2008 at 5:59 pm
gosh, why doesnt some help these people?
September 25th, 2008 at 5:59 pm
wow, your responding to my assertions cabaedium? hahaha, get a life dipshit!
September 25th, 2008 at 7:32 pm
did u see the documentary called Zeitgeist, waddup? u should… maybe u ll understand why people from all around the world hate USA. and im not talking about Chaves’s or Morales’s men, neither iranian talibans, im talking about people with a minimum level of understanding, that know what u can do for oil, money and power.
September 26th, 2008 at 7:55 pm
@Estevão..are you suggesting we give a shit ?
September 26th, 2008 at 7:56 pm
ones again the bodies float and the US is to blame….
shame US, shame US, that you let these innocents die from the tsunami!! maybe they should learn to swim?
September 29th, 2008 at 1:16 pm
I don’t care what you say, those bodies still got some good ******’ in them. I get major wood looking at this photo.
September 30th, 2008 at 12:59 am
I’ve read all the comments in here and its funny, and yet a little scary to me, that the people commenting are supposed to be “Our bright future”. If the people with the ridiculous comments, and you know who you are…, arent under 14, that doesnt mean they are “grown up”. Obviously. This is a very sad photo. Our world is apparently very messed up if there is humor in this kind of tragedy…
September 30th, 2008 at 9:59 am
I got your bright future right here! *grabs crotch*
I’m from the darkside and don’t you ever forget it numbnuts.
October 2nd, 2008 at 4:39 am
Maybe try to remember that people like me were also there, having a holiday, most of the western people there were only starting their one year travels in Thailand !
it wasn’t nice you have no idea!
October 6th, 2008 at 4:34 am
Blah blah. Poor Indonesia. Don’t know how people can have so much emotion for a picture.
October 6th, 2008 at 4:35 am
I would also like to ask if anyone knows why EVERY SINGLE body in this picture is facing downwards.
October 6th, 2008 at 11:55 pm
It’s real people, say somethin worthwhile for once. Maybe the floating face down has something to do with the gas build up in their bloated bodies, mostly in their stomachs probably accelerated by the hot sun, causing them to roll over that way? Have you ever seen a dead dog on the side of the road or something, it’s stomach all ballooned up? I’m guessin it’s something like that.
Have some feeling, karma is a *****. Don’t ever think some crazy shit can’t happen to you and your family. I know some of you actin to be dumb, there’s no way u really think that way.
October 7th, 2008 at 12:05 am
I agree with Mixed Chick. This is serious, people lost their lives and all you can do is blather on about stupid things. For all you Americans out there, you should all know better, what is people were saying this about Katrina vicitims, we know how devastating something like this is, so show some respect!
October 7th, 2008 at 12:36 am
Just to point out im not American.
October 7th, 2008 at 9:15 pm
who are these dead people? looks like mannikins to me….
October 8th, 2008 at 6:19 pm
**** you all what does USA have to do with this you morons?!! Even though I’m ALbaniani I so freaking tired of hearing everyone hating a country they do not know
October 9th, 2008 at 6:53 am
How do you say Albaniani

Tsunami Lament
The shores around Pacific’s rim are guarded by the might
Of buoys and men and radios, that watch by day and night.
The Indian Ocean’s balmy shores should have been guarded too
But the will to act was missing, the killer waves too few.
“We cannot spare the money” was India’s refrain
And echoed by the countries who could not see the gain.
What price upon a single life? What worth a hundred more?
How much to save a thousand bodies floating by the shore?
The stable door is open, the horse of death is free.
It rode upon the killer waves that they could not forsee.
So now they talk of forging a new bolt for the door -
The early warning system they could have had before.
©2005 Tony
Asian leaders decided in 2004 that a tsunami warning system should not be installed as the perceived risk was too slight. Following the tsunami, they changed their minds.
October 14th, 2008 at 12:33 am
how they learn to stay so still?
October 14th, 2008 at 1:36 am
naaaaaahh they just going for a nice morning dip
October 21st, 2008 at 8:12 am
Tony, I think that poem is beautiful.
IF it was written by you i commend you in your efforts.
Ignoring the immaturity and spelling and grammar errors of all the posts prior to mine, i think this is devastating.

New song from DISTURBED…. LET THE BODIES FLOAT ASHORE LET THE BODIES FLOAT ASHORE
If you’re playing off of the song “Let the Bodies Hit the Floor,” then you should know that it was by drowning pool and not disturbed. I suppose you might have known that and just decided that “Let the Bodies Float Ashore” sounded more like a new disturbed song, though.
not that any of that matters.
October 23rd, 2008 at 3:29 pm
I don’t get what the US did to cause this? Pretty sure it was just nature…
October 24th, 2008 at 6:00 am
I’m flabbergasted that so many immature and inhumane comments accompany this tragic image.
October 25th, 2008 at 11:47 am
asspirate. you no talent *** clown. disturbed didnt sing that song, drowning pool did. your an imbecile.
October 26th, 2008 at 6:36 am
Sickening that this can turn into finger pointing at the US.
Perhaps I am one of the few American’s that has aided a tragedy such as this and traveled the world, but I doubt it. Fact of the matter is this is was a terrible situation, but will probably happen again sometime somewhere. My country has some of the most diverse and some of the most ignorant people in the world. I think a lot of people get defensive and act tough.
One simple fact remains, if you can’t be sympathetic to this happening, then you need to get checked out…. I don’t care if you are from North Korea, Austria, Indonesia or Alabama…
The US is not the devil… but I know people need a scape goat…
Cheers!

November 2nd, 2008 at 9:16 pm
what the hell does the us have to do with it waddup?
its a tsunami not a freakin nuclear bomb
have some respect
November 3rd, 2008 at 5:36 am
wtf u guys? this was a horrible disaster, not something to be made fun of. u guys r ******* sick.
Good job trying to make fun of this and how for once the US isnt responsible for a disaster that killed many… u really proved ur point… of how ******* selfish and retarded the American people r becoming!
U guys wanna talk about how it relates to the US… fine! When New Orleans was flooded everyone here was in an uproar, but the tsunami, that killed way more ppl and reduced a population to half its size, is being laughed at and treated like a joke? wtf is wrong with u people? i know that the education system in America is super fucked up but i thought maybe its majority still had a shred of morality or even some humanity…. guess i was wrong.
this picture is very very sad and it should have united us, showing that no matter if its a disaster caused by man or nature, the value of a human life (anywhere) lost is mourned all the same. These people had family, friends, loved ones and will be sorely missed.
November 3rd, 2008 at 9:56 am
A new one for the Mythbusters; why do bodies always land face-down?
November 4th, 2008 at 6:30 pm
waddap, *#2 person*, your an idiot. the U.S. did not unleash a flood upon them for oil. tsunamis are the result of earthquakes. if you really believe america unleashed a flood against them for any reason at all, you need to shut the hell up and graduate 3rd grade.
November 5th, 2008 at 10:39 am
I hope this would happen to USA because they deserve it
November 5th, 2008 at 10:13 pm
is this new orleans? that horrible hurricane, why did it have to happen. please pray for no more hurricanes.
November 6th, 2008 at 3:55 am
Barbie, cant you read? The new president put a new law in, NO MORE HURRICANES! If any hurricanes dare to break the new law, they will go to jail for life.
This is a Tsunami photo it says at the top of each photo what it is, see? you learn something every day. oh to the others?? some of the comments are jokes… (dont tell anyone)
November 6th, 2008 at 8:20 am
Everybody wants the U.S to help them out,It amazes me when we ask for something they turn there backs and then want to call us names. TAKE CARE OF HOME FIRST US !!!! Cause they don’t care about us as you can see in the comments above.
November 6th, 2008 at 5:41 pm
I don’t understand the humor in saying that the US caused this to happen. After the tragedy the us sent millions of dollars over there to help them. I did’nt hear anything about them send us money after 9/11 or after Katrina. Maybe the US isn’t that bad after all
November 6th, 2008 at 8:36 pm
oh thank goodness americans had the sense to pass a law about these things! I feel safe now. If only we would do something about the smart asses on here! Lets pray for them and maybe there will be a law!

November 10th, 2008 at 3:50 am
I have a friend who is Indonesian. Well half, but he grew up there, he speaks and acts it. He is more Indonesian than anything else and even he laughed. He said that if they saw a picture like this and it were any other countries shores with any other countries bodies they would laughing just like many of the commenters here are.

November 12th, 2008 at 10:31 pm
the US government knew ahead about this horrible tsunami and they waited to alert anyone til they knew it was too late, they were angry and resentful of the gains made by Islam in Malaysia. and so hundreds of thousands died because of americas sick jealousy.
November 12th, 2008 at 10:32 pm
shame america, shame on you! no wonder the whole world hates you!
November 13th, 2008 at 1:36 am
Hey, check out this article about severed feet showing up opn the shore of British Columbia:
http://www.cnn.com/2008/CRIME/11/12/canada.feet.mystery/index.html
Do you think perhaps these shoes/feet are from people who died in the tsunami? The dates of the shoes line up with this theory. Messed up thought, huh
November 13th, 2008 at 4:13 am
I can’t believe that some of you are joking about 350,000 dead, floating bodies. That’s not even funny. Imagine everyone you’ve ever known, your children and parents and brothers and sisters and friends and lovers, and imagine they all die in a ******* wave. And you returned home only to watch their bodies float around your home town and decompose.
I’d like to see you joke around then.
Burn in hell.
November 14th, 2008 at 8:27 pm
ah poke yourself in the arse with a broomstick you nasty ole piece o work, no one cares. This is a fine joke, little feet washing up all over, bet they are stinky feet!
November 16th, 2008 at 11:15 am
i’ll bet that was the first time any of those stinky ******** every got a bath. good riddance.
November 18th, 2008 at 11:19 am

November 19th, 2008 at 10:10 am
I cannot believe that are people are joking about it.
You people just weren’t there. If you were, you would be shuddering remembering the carnage, and the loss.
I just realized how shallow humans are.
A friend of mine died in the tsunami. And another lost her mother.
November 20th, 2008 at 5:22 pm
when we went to the phillipines their beaches were full of trash too, these asians are so gross. why dont they pick up their trash? Their sewers go right into the water too, I was afraid to swim.
November 21st, 2008 at 5:00 pm
I’m amused that one of the first comments actually blames the US for the tsunami. That’s just… sad and hilarious at the same time.
November 23rd, 2008 at 8:57 am
I want to say I’m sorry to all those familys that lost there love one’s in the Tsunami. Please please ignore all those comments above that have no meaning, they are wrong! ONE DAY THEY WILL HAVE TO ANSWER FOR THERE ACTIONS. Maybe one day we will be looking at there picture on here.
November 24th, 2008 at 2:00 pm
To #2. The US didn’t do anything. We can’t just make Tsunamis happen. It’s mother nature.
November 24th, 2008 at 11:04 pm
mother nature is not to “blame” for natural disasters. its the human vulnerability of places like Aceh caused by political and social inequality, lack of proper infrastructure and services, and poor risk management by governing powers.
natural disasters are not the issue. its the resulting humanitarian disasters that cause the majority of loss of human life.
November 28th, 2008 at 11:34 am
People just build their homes to stupid places like under volcanos…
December 4th, 2008 at 9:02 pm
Surely this is an example of the wrath of God falling upon these people who reject the sweet Lord Jesus Christ as their savior and follow animal spirits and demonic false prophets like mohamed.
December 6th, 2008 at 7:23 pm
Zeitgeist (the movie) was a load of crap. Talk about cherry-picking facts. If that film was a research paper for a course at the local community college, it would have gotten an F, and been covered in red marks. That movie is only believable if you are in it’s choir. 100% leftist hogwash garbage.
December 6th, 2008 at 7:25 pm
Christian Nation, you make the little baby Jesus cry with your dumbass fundamentalist claptrap-crap. Can you hear him? “waaaaaaaa! waaaaaaaaa!…”
December 6th, 2008 at 11:34 pm
Yeah, blame America for everything. That’s the ticket. I know it is easier for you if you polarize everything to the extreme, and remove all the complicated nuances that make your brain hurt. Go get another beer and put your feet up…relax, you’ve had a rough day. You deserve it.
December 7th, 2008 at 10:31 am
En… that’s stupid to say that the US “unleashed a flood” on another country… US isn’t responsible for EVERYTHING… for a lot… yes but not natural disasters… otherwise we’d have the San Andreas Fault problem solved.
December 8th, 2008 at 1:32 pm
En: Lemme guess…you also bought the whole thing that George W. intentionally unleashed Katrina on the US Gulf Coast because he hates people of African descent? Look, I dislike George W., and much US policy (both domestic & foreign). But one thing I do really like alot is reality, rational thought, and grounding opinions in fact. You might want to try that approach sometime…it’s as comfy as a pair of fleece boxers!
December 8th, 2008 at 9:05 pm
And as for the necrophiliac and nihilistic statements, I would bet good money that your emo *** would be pissing and crying if some Sodom/Gomorrah shit came down upon your pampered little sububurban enclave.
December 11th, 2008 at 4:43 pm
SWEET! The US has the power to create weather disasters! Give a break. If you are going to bash on a country at least make some damn sense. No one unleashed the Tsunami on them - did you think before you typed that out? It sounds STUPID in case you couldn’t tell!
December 11th, 2008 at 11:00 pm
i cant beleive some of these comments, get a friggen life huh? bunch of idiots, and i dont mean just the americans either, every damn one of you who made stupid comments, like the person said, bad carma to you for sure..
December 11th, 2008 at 11:03 pm
the filthy foreigners should have setup an early warning system like the US has. too bad theyre too dumb…

I never knew karma was 5 stars. Awesome.
And the filthy human soup festers wildly fermenting with the fetid foulness of failure from forgotten fellows, floating fleetingly forwards finishing flatlined, fixed, f ucked and forlorn….
fukaye…
December 29th, 2008 at 2:49 am
A lot of the comments are plainly borne of Ignorance. A tsunami or very strong tidal wave is created by an earthquake midsea. It strikes without warning. If you get caught, you are dead. They did not get hit because of their religion, since those who were caught here were Hindus, Muslims, Christians, and Jews. If you do not know the whole story, do some research. Christian nation (sic), Waddup, and some others really are simply showing how real their ignorance is. Grow up!
December 29th, 2008 at 8:39 pm
and how did the US cause a enormous flood?
December 29th, 2008 at 11:15 pm
Didn’t you all know? The US has a super secret tsunami machine! It’s so secret we use it on ourselves from time to time, just to throw everyone off!
How this photo has become such a forum for political mudslinging is beyond me. I love when people say that the US is so horrible. It makes me laugh it really does. Every country has its fair share of skeletons in their closets, and dirt swept under the rug.
December 30th, 2008 at 10:11 am
Ohh Dear, some really poo comments on here…. never mind the one thing thats true is that these people in the picture are dead and that everybody on here is gonna die one day because we all die one day…… lets just hope that no pictures of you make it to the internet to be laughed at………………….
December 30th, 2008 at 6:32 pm
L15t3n… There actually is a great mysterious tsunami and earthquake machine Its called HAARP(google it) it was created from the discovery of Nikola Tesla. it is High Powered radio frequency’s that is capable of creating earthquakes…thus creating a Tsunami. and where is HAARP located???Alaska…olololol… eat a ****
December 30th, 2008 at 6:59 pm
Christian Nation….by the way.. your mental… your the sinner….you probably secretly covet a big hard black C@CK in your A55… And if anyone can show me just one example in the history of the world of a single
Spiritual or religious person who has been able to prove either logically or empirically the existence of a higher power that has any consciousness or interest in the human race or ability to punish or reward humans for there moral choices or that there is any reason - other than fear - to believe in any version of an afterlife
I’ll give you my piano, one of my legs, and my wife
December 30th, 2008 at 7:35 pm
you posess nothing that the Lord has not given you, and you are a procurer for your wife it seems, a pimp for a sinful *****, and you will burn in hell with these dirty and godless idolators while the Devil tortures you and you scream for Gods mercy which you have yet to earn. How shameful to be a perverted soul such as you

Ok listen here Pat Robertson…take you Bull5hit scare tactics elsewhere… you only wish you were as enlightened as myself… your beliefs are based on coincidences. i could pray to a jug of milk and get the same answers as you get from jesus.. say i have cancer.. i pray to jesus to cure me..then i am cured, was it jesus?? or the doctors? say the cancer spreads and they cant cure it right away. is jesus saying, i will not cure you now…but have faith and it will happen….say i die because of the cancer….are you then saying that god had his reasons for taking my life??? coincidences all of them !! the jug of milk could have given me those answers..ololol. and i know you will have excuses to. because believers such as yourself have always had to make excuses whenever you have your religion questioned by others. Im sure you have a dirty little sinful secret. but hey….all you gotta do to get into to heaven is to not denie the holy ghost.. pretty easy for your religion. i think you u did to much drugs back in the day..hopefully i don’t turn out that way.. I use to do drugs, I still do , but i used to to.

these swollen and bloated bodies are a warning to men, repent and kneel before the Lord of Hosts, put your false Gods away and beg for mercy before the day of Gods Wrath! It is at hand! You will burn in the fiery pits of Hell!
