What’s sad is that when statues were made of this famous scene, the PC crowd balked and they had to stick in a black guy, instead of it being the original three white guys.
August 26th, 2008 at 7:23 pm
i know Gourry. rascist country had to go for second best, or should we say; worst scenario ever. a black in the news! goddamn!
August 27th, 2008 at 1:35 am
Tor
Wow, you act as ignorant as you claim America to be. A country is not defined by a singularity. The ignorance and racism you seem to be crusading against can be found anywhere. As well as intellectual and compassionate people can be found anywhere. Grow the **** up.
August 27th, 2008 at 3:16 am
And here I thought people from other countries were more polite and considerate than the U.S. Thank you ever so much for continually shooting that concept all to hell, Tor. Thank you ever so freaking much.
August 27th, 2008 at 7:33 am
how the hell did a story about including a black guy in this event’s commemorative statue, the relative spread of ignorance and racism and the politeness of foreigners get into this discussion please?
and by the way, how can you tell the difference between a black statue and a white statue? different color marble?
now please; it is touching, it is nice and it is, no doubt, vaguely patriotic in the sense that a *** pride is pretty colorful. can we go back to appreciating photos again? it seems more important than the other inane tidbits that were being talked about anyway.
August 27th, 2008 at 1:12 pm
I don’t see black or white….I see three heroic men who risked their lives to begin picking up the pieces of our nation after a horrific tragedy.
August 27th, 2008 at 6:07 pm
In 1945 we had the flag raising at Iwo Jima, in 2001 we had Ground Zero. I thought we were supposed to learn history so that history wouldn’t repeat itself; so could some1 tell me “What the flying crap have we learned!”
August 27th, 2008 at 6:51 pm
m!ssy
……. how is Ground Zero a repetition of Iwo Jima?
Do you even know where Iwo Jima is?
August 27th, 2008 at 9:51 pm
No matter how much that flag raising represents, in the end it’s still merely a flag made up cloth that isn’t really special at all. It’s nice that those guys did that but, who’s to say that wasn’t a waste of time? They should have been looking for more bodies and cleaning up. The least they could’ve done was get the hell out of there before their lungs were contaminated by the “clean” air.
August 27th, 2008 at 10:42 pm
Anon–
Nice try at sounding intellectual, but you fall short. There are a lot of people who need a banner to rally around in a time of confusion, and these brave men took the time to give it to them.
August 28th, 2008 at 1:57 am
M!ssy-
History is going to repeat itself at any given point in time, there is nothing that you, me, or any of these other people can do to stop it. You can try to stop history from repeating, but you’ll only end up failing…miserably.
August 28th, 2008 at 3:02 am
This photograph and the ‘Iwo Jima’ photograph are often compared because of the graphic similarities, people tend to also match the events, too..which is very flawed.
To me this photo represents a love for ones country and an icon for continuity…that our flag and the values it represents will continue to fly despite the interventions of others who deem violence as a means of opposing our values and policies.
August 28th, 2008 at 7:48 am
stability, continuity, flexibility. with those three values, america could, eventually, rise again. what do you guys think: is it likely that America could go the way Rome did, from republic to empire?
that would definitely be an interesting question to try and answer…
August 28th, 2008 at 2:51 pm
why the hell are so many pictures concerning the u.s? if it changes a contry, it doesn’t mean it changes the world. where are the photos with the bombing in madrid? or the US killings? (i forgot, those are in the name of justice and oil!)
Don’t get me wrong, i’m sorry about what happened then. Many people died. But i hate the fact that this is considered the greates tradedy in human kind. greater than nagasaki&co.
August 28th, 2008 at 5:30 pm
Where are you getting “the greatest tragedy in human kind”? I know very few people who would agree with that. It is one great tragedy among too many throughout history.
Also, our world is so interconnected that circumstances in one country often do effect others in one way or another.
No one is saying that these are the only pictures that represent tragedy or life-altering circumstances. There is a “submit” button at the top of the site for you to recommend any picture you please. I would love to see more submitted.

you must know by now that everything about america is GREATEST.
August 29th, 2008 at 2:55 pm
Well thank you for the compliment to America Tor
August 31st, 2008 at 1:33 pm
“tor: you must know by now that everything about america is GREATEST.”
like ignorance, easily believing in false facts, believing in a lying gouvernment and not noticing all the crap and lies that fly around the world? then you’re right.
August 31st, 2008 at 1:52 pm
thank you for pointing that out, totally agree. i was ironic by the way, but irony don’t work that well on text/comments.
August 31st, 2008 at 2:32 pm
I think it’s time……….. for everyone to learn Tor’s country………. So we can point out it’s flaws……..

koko like fire!!!!!!
September 3rd, 2008 at 6:10 pm
Hiroshima and Nagasaka were NOT tragedies. They were the iron fist of democracy crushing an enemy. God bless the B-29. And for m!ssy and +++ who compare this to Iwo Jima…go read a history book you kooks. Iwo Jima’s flag raising was nothing more than a rally to morally and physically beaten Marines. Seeing that flag go up on Surabachi was the first sign that we were making progress against the Nips. The fact that the battle went another 30 says after that flag raising is often over looked. You cannot compare a single moment of WWII to anything that happens today. Because WWII was the last time a war was fought that had a clear winner and loser. Socialism and Facism lost. Democracy won. You’ll never see that again.
September 3rd, 2008 at 10:55 pm
Hey Tor, what’s it like having a tiny little ****?
September 4th, 2008 at 12:30 am
Hey M, when it comes to I.Q. points, you lose them every time you go to the bathroom.

September 6th, 2008 at 8:44 pm
Lukedrifter seems pretty educated to me. With what part of his statements do you take issue? He’s dead on track.

I feel sorry for all those who have posted on this site with such bad intentions, just to have something to degrade. For Example all the mean spirited comments about America, or other groups of people, its just not correct. Yes America does have problems and it has in the past, but something I want to remind all those who have been degrading America and others is that in America we have the freedom of speech, where some nations do not, and the fact that you are using that freedom to be cruel is just unethical. So to conclude my thought I’ll use the famous quote by Voltaire that fully explains how I feel about the degraders of any people and country. “I Do Not Agree With A Word YOU Say, But I Will Defend To My Death Your Right to Say It.
September 15th, 2008 at 1:42 am
@sadforhumanity..Im so sick of you ashole people from the US who use the tern America as if you are all there is. try looking at an atlas will ya?
September 15th, 2008 at 9:58 am
When I use the term America I’m not reffering to just the United States but to all the countries that are covered under both North and South America. The people who have been talking ill, are using the term America even though they most likely mean the United States, but the fact that they used the term America, seems insulting and rude to anyone in the Americas, as my post states, but I did notice I used the term in a similar way, and I apologize, and will try to be more politically correct next time.
September 15th, 2008 at 10:21 am
@jeri, I apologize for using the improper term, I should have used the United States instead of America, but my point is what was important not necessarily the word choice.
September 15th, 2008 at 10:42 pm

October 12th, 2008 at 6:16 pm
October 12th, 2008 at 8:46 pm
@fernanda, yes of course, that Iraqis were later killed and because Americans use oil of course this justifies killing and hatred of americans which even occurred before the instances you use as illustrations of your “point”, that point being, you dont like americans so they shouldnt ***** about being attacked. I love the circular logic you people employ.

November 2nd, 2008 at 12:15 am
Humanity is flawed. America ( or the US or whatever you want to refer to it as) is flawed, and so is the rest of the world. The fact that the majority of these comments are negative and serve to only fill the world with more hate is sad. Wether you love the United States or hate it is irrelevent when your comments are simply feeding the division, hatred, and ugliness in our world. No matter which side of the argument you are on maybe you should spend a little more time looking at the destructive things you are doing ( your comments) instead of complaining about the flaws of others. Or better yet go out and do something productive to aid humanity.
I Love you ALL …. how is that for a comment
November 5th, 2008 at 5:26 pm
MAN! **** AMERICA! I mean the government. I dont know any americans bur just reading comments on some pictures of arabs makes me so mad. It would be fun that if there were a war on american soil. It would be just the perfect payback. There is a war in iraq and people are acting normal. What the ****?! And for rednecks it reads in the bibel: do not kill. And american laws should be done by the bible. It is sick. It disqusts me. You dont know how people hate you in here. Start reading the news. Fox news are propaganda. Wikipedia is controlled by the cia. Cia are murderers. Dont believe in the news there. Thank you.
November 5th, 2008 at 11:51 pm
one day every arab will be dead, and we will dance in the streets.

November 8th, 2008 at 9:47 pm
oh yeah and for the record, i don’t hate americans.
i hate narrow minded ****-ups in life, like on this site n the guy using my name. would have you knocked out in about 2 seconds and your picture might end up on this site then!!!!
November 10th, 2008 at 2:13 pm
as far as i am concerned, the only intolerable act known to mankind is the practice of intolerance in the first place. while that naturally sounds contradictory, my point is simply this: all evil is either directly or indirectly a result of intolerance. i would challenge any and all of you to find an issue where this theory is inaccurate. as far as a definition for tolerance, i shall say it is a fair and objective attitude towards any ideas, practices, or background foreign to one’s own, which ultimately results in said behaviors becoming common practice. of course, the clear rebuttal to my point is that i am arguing for some sort of idealistic world like utopia. i, however, understand and recognize that a utopia is impossible. all i ask is that people consider the idea of tolerance and look to embrace it in their own lives. secondly, the fact that anybody would express hate towards an entire group of people in response to an event or events such as 9/11 or the holocaust is nothing more than immature and uneducated. i would urge anyone who has expressed such sentiments to read, listen, watch, and allow yourself time for personal reflection before you open your mouth to others again.
November 12th, 2008 at 12:58 am
geez people. this is a REAL(not fake) photo that is yes, a piece of cloth on a pole; but really are none of you able to look at this in a non literal fashion. this “piece of cloth” is a representation. that we as US citizens will recover from this tragedy and that we will be o.k.
this pic was not meant to be looked at in this manner, saying its a fake and clearly disrespecting all of the people affected by this day.
you want to know why we have war, its because of all the comments on here. lighten up people. dont get me wrong, i am extremely mad at the all of the comments on here about hating americans and i wish they were dead(am one) and all the comments about wanting to go kill everyone else on this planet.
the US is not by far the best place in the world, but really there are people here that fight for the ones who are disrespecting them.
you want to have a political convo about hating each other, go do it on a forum for that topic..not here. thats not what this pic is about.
grow up people, think before you speak…and have respect for all people that have lost their lives in ALL the tragedies in the WORLD. everyone on here knows someone that lost their life, think of them and then speak.
November 13th, 2008 at 6:33 am
I think 9/11 was awful, as does everyone, no offence but i think america need to stop going on about it, yes it was a horrible thing to happen but young and old die from aid every single day, more people than who died in 9/11! I think it shows the arrogance of the developed world, I’m british, and i think the exact same about my country, wealth makes us arrogant, hense why i want to live differently, simply, not be a product of greed! Things could have been prevented if the world pulled their finger out and helped each other out, we’ll always have a corrupt world, there will always be controversy, but when will we ever start loving each other?? seeing everyone as people, not seperating them into races! we are all children of God, loved by him, we are all equal in his eyes!
No war is just, no evil is just!!! Jesus came to the earth to show people the love of God…LOVE! he came to show love, kindness and god! god is trust, prayer, love, not bombs, fighting and greed!
November 13th, 2008 at 1:55 pm
I dont care if 2 ugly buildings blow up and hundreds of “perfect” americans die. It was fun to watch the people fall to their death. And Laura there cant be good without evil and peace without war. People will never learn loving each other. People will hate each other more and more ever day. There dies hundreds of people every day. Now was just these peoples turn. Who cares. If someone dies in america then everyone must know about it and call it “tragedy”
November 14th, 2008 at 2:01 pm
you MUST be uneducated and therefore incredibly ignorant. that’s the only logical way to explain your comments.
November 14th, 2008 at 8:12 pm
I hate you filthy american pieces of crap, with your flag flying all over the place like you own the world, one day we will get you for your arrogance and your evil perfidy. They should blow up all your damn building and all your child care centers like the oklahoma bomb, I salute the brave man who did that to you filthy pigs.
November 14th, 2008 at 9:49 pm
I am homosexual and I voted for proposition8, you should support it to, we can tach your childrn to be homos in school, you will thank us when they bring home their black lovers and leave stains on your sheets.
November 15th, 2008 at 5:52 pm
You damn ***! Have you ever wondered what that little thing you have is? It is not for ******* mans craphole idiot, it is meant for ******! have you ever heard about ******? And “to poopoo” i think i’m much more educated than you, you ******* american dumbass. Americans can speak only english because they are too lazy to learn other languages. I can speak 4 other languages. And i think that europeans have much more better schools than your american shitholes.
November 16th, 2008 at 6:34 pm
“I dont care if 2 ugly buildings blow up and hundreds of “perfect” americans die. It was fun to watch the people fall to their death.”….
that comment alone speaks volumes about your lack of education. no properly educated and informed person could ever truly believe such things. I personally don’t care how many languages you know because it is completely irrelevant to your ignorance about humanity. your views are skewed, like many americans and many people from whatever country you might call home. i can honestly say that your own mother would be ashamed by the thoughts you have expressed on this forum. the fact that you would ever wish death upon people, regardless of whether or not you agree with their government, is an atrocity to humankind. you, my friend, are truly a waste of life. it’s truly unfortunate that you take up space in this world. breathe the air of our world and eat our food. it is people like you that create horrible atrocities like the attacks of 9/11 and the holocaust. while i, and i’m sure many others, have absolutely no respect for you, i would still never wish death upon you. i can only hope and pray that you are unable to sleep at night because you are haunted by the words you say and the thoughts you possess.
November 17th, 2008 at 1:26 am
“haunted by the words you say”, HAH that’s ridicolous. Americans think that 9/11 was the greatest tragedy of human kind. Have you ever thinked that there is other countries in this world than usa?
November 17th, 2008 at 1:51 am
You can hate These United States Of America all you want, I know that you do but I don’t care. Have all of you people forgoten about the United States Marines and Army alongside all of the Coalition soldiers in Afghanistan. Do you consider that a war for oil, because let me tell you I don’t think there is any large supplies over there but why are we there? I will tell you, to combat a terrorist organization known as Al Qaeda. I have tried to understand why people are so against the United States of America and the only thing I can come up with is that we are different. It is human nature to be agrivated or have fear for something different. The United States is an economic powerhouse with 10 guranteed basic civil liberties that lets the people choose who are in power over them. Sure, there may be “atrocities” that you feel we are committing in Iraq, but research this. The United States, France, The United Kingdom, RUSSIA AND CHINA, all had the same intelligence as far as weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. So we may have been the catalyst in the these events, but the COALITION members all AGREED to move into the country of Iraq. Aristotle once said(basically)”Analyze yourself before you analyze others.” So I am asking you take a philosphical stand point and as completely unbiased as you possibly can using no emotion in your critical thinking, please decide and reason why you can have so much hate for the United States Of America.
November 17th, 2008 at 2:10 am
I think we are in afghanistan because we wanted to put a natural gas pipeline through that country from kazakhstan and the other former soviet republics to the energy hungry factories of china, and of course so we can maintain control of the largest heroin production center in the world. you would think that would be obvious. but lets not castigate one another for it, there is room for all to share in the wealth America creates…all but a miserable few that is.
November 17th, 2008 at 2:42 am
@ arm
A natural gas pipeline for the Chinese factories?
Hmm, this a possibility I suppose, I don’t know if this was intended to be humrous but I had a good laugh from it.
November 17th, 2008 at 10:42 am
Ryan you idiot. US marines are not alone in iraq and afghanistan. So dont take all the honor to your country. And only the europe’s “important countries” desided to let you attack to iraq. And do you think that we dont have the same civil liberties as you? Do you think that all other world are arabs or chinese? Have you ever heard from a place called europe? i bet that you cant find it from map. And other world hates you because you think that you are “the best people in world” and invade other countries because of oil.
November 17th, 2008 at 12:54 pm
If you had taken the time to read my post you would have read this:
Have all of you people forgoten about the United States Marines and Army alongside all of the COALITON soldiers in Afghanistan.
Now ask yourself if you thought before you spoke, if you considered everthing or just your own emotion because apparently you can’t even read a whole comment before you skip to conclusions. So am I the idiot or you. You are just continually sticking to irrational opinions.(any thing you say that isnt based on fact) Everyone needs to take responsibility instead of shoveling shit on each other. Including you.
November 17th, 2008 at 6:30 pm
@ poopoo:
Furthermore, you said and I quote “And only the europe’s “important countries” desided to let you attack to iraq.” If by “important countries” you mean all the member countries of NATO and the Coalition and thats how you view them that is your persepective. They did not decide to “let us attack Iraq” we all agreed and moved into Iraq as a joint operation. As far as civil liberties go, I may have been misinformed but as I recall The United Kingdom still has a Monarchy. Yes it is balanced by parliament and maybe the prime minister may have most of the power but it is still a Monarchy. I am not here to criticize this government, as it works for the English people and that is what they want. But with any country that has a history of a Royal Family or Bloodline the people typically do not have as many rights. As I said, I could be misinformed. As far as the rest of the world being nothing but Arabs and Chinese people, all I have to say is REALLY, DID YOU REALLY JUST SAY THAT. You are not Arabic or Chinese so how can the rest of the world be Arabic or Chinese. You are insulting your own intellect by saying I don’t know what Europe is, did I not just mention NATO and the Coalition, France, the United Kingdom. Here I will give you a short list of a few other countries I have heard of, Germany, Spain, Portugal, The Czech Republic, Italy, Sweden, Poland and the list goes on. I don’t think my country is the greatest, but I do know that for me it is the best place for me to live. I can have an enjoyable life here and because of this I have pride in my country. My country gives me so much and I am not required to repay a single bit of it back. If you hate The United States of America then do you love your country? This is the same concept of Patriotism.
November 17th, 2008 at 8:56 pm
@ryan, I cant believe you are quoting poopoo! what are ya lame? hes just makin fun a ya. As for the pipeline, yes, it was put to the talibal originally, and they turned it down unequivocally and next thing you know Karzai is the president of Afghanistan…..where did he come from? oh, gosh, he was the CEO of the gas company (a subsidiary of an american company) who wanted to build the pipeline, i mean come on all this shit has been in the news and its not like people shouldnt be able to add 2 and 2 to get 4. Im suprised no one mentioned the heroin angle, to farfetched or too easy to believe? President Bushes first pardon when he became president all those years ago was coincidentally an afghani in an american prison who was one of the largest heroin dealers from afghanistan. Doesnt anyone read the newspapers who doesnt have a short attention span or do all you idiots get your news from weblogs? hahaha….fools.
November 18th, 2008 at 2:35 am
@ arm
Actually I must apologize to you arm, I wasn’t sure if you were serious or not. I had no clue of this happening and I am actually a little stunned. Like you said it is quite obvious if you think about it. It seems that corruption is everywhere these days. But you must also take everything with a grain of salt. There is a phenomenon called rationalization, an example of this is when people believe so whole-heartedly that they can see or speak to God, that they trick themselves into believing that they actually have seen or spoken to god. I am not saying you are doing this “rationalization” but we must always be sure of what we know. This is the only way that humanity can progress, by using logical thinking and reasoing and using Higher Order Thinking Skills. But I know very little about this situation and I cannot make any judgement on the situation as it is unjust on my part. However this may be an open and closed case because of the people in power and in position to make money at the expense of the people.
November 18th, 2008 at 11:00 am
Ryan said:

I love my country and i’m patriotic but americans are TOO patriotic. As i already said americans think that they rule the world and all folks of other countries are worse than they.
November 18th, 2008 at 12:46 pm
@poopoo
I would like to know how anyone can be too patriotic. I am a citizen of The United States of America, and I have not been acting like I rule the world. I don’t think I have been so oppresive against your ideals and what you think. What experiences have you actually had with a U.S. citizen. I guarantee they have not been acting high and mighty towards you and saying that they hate you or what you believe in. We believe in equality for all people whether they are citizens or people from other countries. Americans get upset when we are told our country is horrible and that we are horrible people. Who would not take offense to that, particularly people who consider themselves decent people? How can you stereotype an entire civilization? If you haven’t actually had any interactions with American citizens then you are probably told bad things about The United States. I know for a fact that not everthing we do is bad. We donate immense amounts of money and effort to people that have been in need both past and present. We didn’t have to help rebuild Europe after World War II, but we did. We send food donations and toys for children to African nations that have been destroyed by years of civil war. You must remove your selective hearing from your thinking process, yes you should remember everything you don’t like about The United States but you must also consider all the positive points.
November 18th, 2008 at 2:26 pm
Please write a book and send it to me. Your writings are too long. And it was your duty to rebuild europe because you bombed france and many french citizens died. And you and germans destroyed villages and towns. And of course there are some positive things in United states like in any country.

There are 2 types of americans. 1. Brainless merciless rednecks who dont care about anything like lol. 2. Normal people. But i think that normal people are minority in america. I think that you are “normal” ryan, but you still got lot to learn…
November 20th, 2008 at 5:06 pm
poopoo american too, why you hate ur self poopoo?
November 22nd, 2008 at 1:26 pm
We all have a lot to learn. If you think about it, we are the only species to have such a global network of communication. We are all connected in some form. This is a challenge against beliefs and ideas, which is nescessary for progression but we simply haven’t found a way to organize everything that everyone is trying to say.

People always hate the popular, good looking, rich kid (at least behind their back). It seems the same goes for countries. The other simularity is that like the rich kids, we are having to much fun to give a f@$k! God Bless America! We Americans have our faults, but who doesn’t? Id rather be sinning in america then any where else in the world. Hate the sin, not the sinner. Otherwise known as, Don’t be hatin’!
God bless the world, I have my own family to worry about.

O.K. Kicca, tell me then what is the truth and what country are you from. This happens everywhere but there is always the one person who thinks its never their fault and never takes responsibility for their actions. Give me a reason to respect your opinion, but until then, you are nothing to me or anyone else who has ever read that post. Just another mental ****** with too much built up emotion.

It amazes me that people all over this planet judge all American people because of political choices made that none of us got to approve or disapprove. We go to work everyday, feed the dog, take the kids to school, do laundry, watch a little television, bury our parents, have birthday parties, … none of which is done thinking that we are any better than anyone else on this planet. We just happen to be born on this continent at this time is history…just homosapiens trying to take care of our families.
What would the rest of the world have American people do so that you’d feel like we ‘got what is coming to us’? … Do you just want to insult everyone here? What’s up with your hatred? Unless you’ve lived and/or experienced something first hand, there’s a great possibililty that you don’t know everything you think there is to know.Don’t close your minds to something you know so little about.Have a little faith in people…..

Hey all you silly Americans…what goes around comes around!
And what exactly did we send around? If people are going to accuse anybody of anything and say things like that then back up it. Tell why you said that instead of just vomitting your ridiculous comments on the internet. This is why there are so many arguments here because people just go around throwing absurd remarks intending to offend each other. This is fine, do what you want but at least back it up. In Philosophy I was taught an important phrase “The Affirmative claimant has the burden of proof.” If anyone should believe I am a complete idiot go ahead and tell me but you better tell me why with a legitimate and reasonable explanation, and until then you have no right to speak. And anyone from here on out who continues to comment without applying this deserves to no longer be treated as an intelligent human with any worth or intellectual value.
December 9th, 2008 at 10:52 pm
Now I am going to go through some of the more ridiculous comments I have read thus far.

In 1945 we had the flag raising at Iwo Jima, in 2001 we had Ground Zero. I thought we were supposed to learn history so that history wouldn’t repeat itself; so could some1 tell me “What the flying crap have we learned!”
Wow, aren’t you intellectual. You can draw connections between a war and an act of terrorism. I can’t even begin to describe my anger towards you right now.
Anon Says:

No matter how much that flag raising represents, in the end it’s still merely a flag made up cloth that isn’t really special at all. It’s nice that those guys did that but, who’s to say that wasn’t a waste of time? They should have been looking for more bodies and cleaning up. The least they could’ve done was get the hell out of there before their lungs were contaminated by the “clean” air.
The flag was raised a long time after the actual collapsing of the towers. And how the hell were they supposed to know the air they were breathing would lead to so many health problems later.

stability, continuity, flexibility. with those three values, america could, eventually, rise again. what do you guys think: is it likely that America could go the way Rome did, from republic to empire?
that would definitely be an interesting question to try and answer…
We already have gone from republic to empire and back to republic. By being an empire we acquired Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and Alaska. Shortly after this however, a there was a change in our mindset and we stopped (for lack of a better term) conquering foreign lands.

So, how this photo changed the world? Let Yankees look for oil in Iraq?
Iraq was a war started to find weapons of mass destruction(even if it was a false war). It is easy to assume the war in Iraq is a war for oil but it is not the only reason. The War on Terror is the war that was a result of this event and it is in Iraq and AFGHANISTAN.

Thank you.
A war on American soil, you had better be prepared to see one giant pissed off completely united country where even the citizens are permitted to own armories. Life carries on dip shit, why should I break down crying about something horrible that I have no control over. Using the bible for our laws is ridiculous and our founding fathers understood this hence the Seperation of Church and State Clause. Middle Eastern Countries use their Religions for the base of the judiciary system and look how that turned out, no civil rights and you are forced to conform. We also have freedom of the press, so how can Fox News be propaganda and how can the CIA own Wikipedia?

Thats why I am here online talking a lot of trash about others and as people retaliate I get enjoyment because I know I have power over others. The power to be a completely soulless person. My life is empty and vapid please ignore me.

@Ryan… I greatly respected everything you said, and still do… I need to make one correction, though. Your comment “Using the bible for our laws is ridiculous and our founding fathers understood this hence the Seperation of Church and State Clause” is partially incorrect. Yes, it is in the first AMENDMENT to the US Constitution (Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof), but our country was founded on the basis of Religion… After all, that is why we came in the first place isn’t it? So we could worship how we wanted and not how the queen told us to? The constitution was signed in 1787 and that amendment wasn’t written until 1791. I’m not arguing with you, but I thought (since you are so into having facts before you speak) that you should remember where our country started. Sorry if I made you mad… that wasn’t my intention, but you are very sure that America has no basis in religion… It has it’s very founding based there. Our Declaration of Independence (written 11 years prior) states that “All men are created equal, that they are endowed by their CREATOR with certain unalienable rights… that statement alone shows that our nation was founded on the basis of Religion. I know some of our predecessors didn’t follow the “created equal” statement, but that isn’t what my comment is about.
January 5th, 2009 at 2:09 am
No no, Alexandra, your critisism is actually appreciated. I may have been wrong and if I am or was then it is your duty to say I am wrong. It is a somewhat covered up fact that a portion of the founding fathers were Philosophers before Followers. “All men are created equal, that they are endowed by THEIR creator with certain unalienable rights,” I personally believe that THEIR should be empasized because we came to worship how we wanted or IF we wanted meaning that we can also choose not to believe at all. I believe we simply have seperate view points here because (excuse me for assuming) you seem to have a background in religion where as I do not so this could simply be a difference of opinion. Either way though I honestly do appreciate you speaking up.
