9/11 Attacks

In the morning September 11, 2001, two hijacked passenger jets crashed into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York City. This was no accident, but rather a series of attacks done by suicide bombers engaged with the Al-Qaeda terrorist group.

The attacks killed all the passengers on board the hijacked planes, and took away 2,974 innocent lives at the World Trade Center. More than 90 countries lost citizens in the attack, and the stock market was closed for a week. In response to the attacks, the United States government declared a War on Terror, while many other nations strengthened their law enforcement powers to fight terrorism. However, the suicide attacks done by the Al Qaeda terrorists have forever marked a sense of fear not just in America, but in the whole world.

  1. Peter Says:

crawl back under a rock you stupid Al Qaeda loving pshyco ***** maureen… you are ******* dillusional i guess you also believe the Germans never killed any Jews…

  2. james Says:

Maureen, I’m pretty sure it did happen my dear. almost certain, did the nurse miss you on her rounds?

  3. Tom Says:

This was just another government plot to start a war! Bush wanted war, this was just the start of the Iraq war! Bush lied to Americans more than ounce! Stop being so naive.

  4. Marco Says:

Why do Maureen’s comments seem so far fetched to some of you? Do you really think your government is always truthful and forthcoming? You people are the ones who are delusional if you think that what you see is what you get. You’re only convinced of the “truth” because of what you’ve heard from CNN, Fox, ABC, etc. Remember, sometimes the best place to hide something is in plain sight.

  5. Steve Says:

Actually, I have yet to see any convincing evidence that the planes didn’t cause the destruction. All of the other theories that I have heard fail Occam’s Razor.

All of the other theories would require the coordination and cooperation of many people over many months. The more people involved, the greater the risk of being caught, the more encounters involved, the more chance of being caught. All scenarios I have seen are just plain and simple not plausible.

What we are really seeing here is an anomaly. Basically a few people exploited a simple weakness in airplane security: previous hijackings.

Previous hijackings tended to be plane is landed, standoff, hostages get rescued or released. So nobody was going to stand up and fight for the plane, since they all believed they would be going home in a few days or weeks.

After this picture was taken, that was never going to be possible again. As evidenced by the plane that crashed soon after the occupants were apprised of what had already happened.

This was an entirely self-correcting problem that we have spent BILLIONS and continue to spend money trying to fix… even though the hijackers fixed the entire problem that day… by simply showing people that they can’t allow their plane to be used that way.

Problem solved. Yet, we still continue to pay for a solution.

  6. jon from Jersey Says:

you know what. all of you need to show a little more respect. I WAS THERE, in Brooklyn when it happened. i saw the smoke, I breathed it in! my best friend lost BOTH his parents in this cowardly act. Talk all you want about the government or logistics, Just don’t forget how this effected millions, and belittle it. (maureen)

  7. gabby Says:

Al-Qaeda is a group of cowards. Cowards, murderers, spineless slugs.

jon from Jersey is 100% right. You need to show more respect. Not only do I have family who died in this senseless act of violence, but so do the families of 3k+ victims throughout the world - not just America.

The attacks were real. The attacks were very real. And those of you who can’t understand that need to shut the hell up.

Thank you, Peter, Steve, James, Jon - You’ve re-convinced me that the world has at least a little sense left in it.

  8. hopefully one of the sane Says:

For everyone who truly thinks that this tragedy was a government plot, i have one question.

How can you have such little faith in humanity as to accuse a man of killing so many people and causing a country so much tragedy because he wanted a war?

There is a lot of evil in this world. There are a lot of bad people willing to do bad things to get what they want. That doesn’t mean you can’t trust anyone.

If you don’t agree with the war, fine. I’ll give you that. But do you seriously, completely, and truly believe that our president is EVIL enough to plot all of this because he wanted a war? (think of all the people who would be involved. we are talking about a grade-A scifi film where EVERYONE is out to get us.)

If you do, then call me crazy. Hopefully i am not the only person out there that has a little faith in what is good in this world, and the people in it.

  9. PB&J Says:

I love Peanut Butter and Jelly.

  10. Caleb Says:

Our government isn’t crafty enough to whip something like this up.

And as for those of you branding Al Qaeda as “cowards”…It’s simply sticks-and-stones. They are many things; passionate, ruthless, murderous, disturbing…But giving their life to what they believed to be a higher purpose?

That’s far from cowardice. It’s scary, but pretty damn brave.

For the LOVE of GOD, pick your adjectives carefully. The lot of you are just so inexplicably deranged.

  11. Steve Says:

    One of the sane:

Yup, you are sane. There are many plots in our goverment, many that USED 9/11 i n disgusting and disgraceful ways, but, that doesn’t mean they planned it. Just that they are greedy scared (yes scared… but ill get to that) opportunists.

They were scared, scared that if it happened again, they would be blamed, they might be seen as weak, they might ::gasp:: not get re-elected.

So they created a useless “TSA”, even though a rational look at the facts shows that increasing airport security is a dead end and just throwing good money after bad.

They gutted the power of the FISA courts, courts put in to protect us… not from theoretical abuses of power, but actual abuses of the past that we wanted to be sure never happened again. Guess what? now they can happen again.

Al Queda won that day. They have won ever day since. They killed many people, yes. However that wasn’t their aim. That was the means of their attack.

Their aim was to make us afraid and make us wastefully spend money to protect ourselves. They succeded because we were weak and gave in to fear. They won when the patriot act was passed, they won again and again and again.

  12. r00st3r Says:

I still haven’t seen proof that a plane hit the pentagon, no wings, fuselage, engines, debris..and if the wings and such went into the building, then the hole would be much bigger than it was and there would be parts scattered, but the windows next to the hole were intact..Planes just don’t disintegrate.

  13. Rabble Rouser for Peace Says:

These people, who unfortunately lost their lives, would want people to question to events leading to their deaths. Fact. Jet fuel or anything else in the WTC does not burn hot enough to melt steel. So, how do two buildings designed for a plane to hit them (citation needed) collapse to the ground, strikingly similar to how a controlled demolition, unaided? Think for yourself, question authority. Think for yourself, question authority. The news channels did none of this in the days and weeks after this event so youve got to do it for yourself. Does anyone remember the field in Pennsylvania where the plane “crash landed”, there was nothing but burnt grass. No engine, no bodies, no twisted metal. This has never happened in the history of aviation. The engine does not disintegrate. Think for yourself, question authority. Do it in memory of those people. Remember this country was founded by rebellious patriots.

  14. Bobby Says:

steve, you leave a lot of super long comments. too much 4 me to read.

  15. Amy Says:

We went to visit this area where these buildings were taken out and
I must say it touched my heart. This was seen on national *live* t.v., how can the building breaking down be fake??

An overwhelming presence of heartache lies there… I happen to go to NY on the FIRST day of rebuilding. Down the street, there are tiles and tiles made by the children for their parents and loved ones who lost their lives. Where twin towers once lay- there are more pictures made by children. My heart goes out to all these families.
–Whether it was a conspiracy or terrorism, either was a selfish act… We can’t have blinders on that this world has many people who live with blinders and lose sight of what’s important.
–The area where the Twin Towers once stood really isn’t very large as one might think. It is a miracle that even the Church still stands where George Washington once prayed..it is soo close to this empty space! It touched my heart that the American flag still stood as hope where the Twin Towers once stood.

  16. Lucifer Says:

that sh1t happened like 7 years ago already.. people die every minute of every day, let go. to go on and on and on like this requires an amount of vanity i do not comprehend

you are mortal. you too are going to die. talk big all you like, it wont save you^^

  17. Steve Says:

our Government is barely competent enough to pull this off. Ok, we have units of the military that could do it from a technical standpoint. The problem is the number of people that would have to be involved and at such diverse levels.

The problem here is that when you look at all of the complexities and potential downfalls of such a plot from the inside, none of them even approaches the simplicity of the official explanation.

Also, the assertions about heat of the fire and steel, I have considered roundly discredited for a while now. Seriously, jet fuel can’t melt steel? Have you ever seen pictures of a gas fire from a spill under a steel bridge? Wow, let me tell you, even without anything to trap the heat on the sides, a fuel fire can distort the hell out of steel. You don’t need to melt it to ruin the structural integrity of the building.

Seriously, this was an attack, and it continues to achieve its goal.

  18. Allie Says:

    r00st3r:
That’s because the plane DIDN’T hit the Pentagon, you half-wit. The passengers of the plane overtook the hijackers and crashed it in a field before they even reached the Pentagon.

Everyone who says this was a conspiracy is disrespecting those who lost their lives. You all need to keep your mouths closed. I can’t believe how disrespectful you all are. It sickens me.

  19. D Lord Says:

    Hmmm….
Fact: A lot of Americans died that day.
Fact: This list of people will tell you that what you have been told as to HOW and WHY they died has been a giant lie. Is it so hard to believe there are evil people in the world? Is it even harder to beleive that these evil people hold powerful positions in our government and are ******* with us in ways we cant even explain?

SCIENCE DOES NOT LIE, PEOPLE DO

The south tower collapsed completely in just over 10 seconds. 200,000 tons of steel exploded outwards of up to 500 ft in under 10 seconds. That means the tower collapsed at a rate of about 10 floors per second. Physically IMPOSSIBLE following the “pancake” collapse theory mentioned in the 9/11 commission report. Which by the way, was organized and finalized by Philip Zelikow, who had 100% absolute power and had final say on anything contained in the 9/11 commission report. Basically anything he didn’t see fit or just didn’t want in the report, he omitted. Such as the molten steel, the traces of thermite, and the inclusion in the report of the physically impossible explanation of how the towers collapsed.

I don’t know what happened, but I do know what DID NOT happen. I would trust any of these people over Cheney, Bush, and Zelikow

    Sources you say?

Peter Jospeh has done us all a favor and documented most of this information on his website for his award winning documentary. Visit http://www.zeitgeistmovie.com, then go to sources (and dare I say watch the documentary?) And before you ask, yes I pulled most of my info from this documentary and another called “Loose Change”.

Conspiracy theories you say in disgust? I will trust these doctors, scientists, and architects over Bush and his cabinet ANY day.

  20. Tabitha Says:

I hate to say this but the plane did in fact hit the pentagon. There were a total of 4 planes. 2 for the towers one for the pentagon and one for the US Capital building. The plane that was taken back over by the passengers and crashed into the field was the one that was heading for the Capital building. I know this because I was watching it live on television while i was in school. Check your facts before you comment.

  21. D Lord Says:

Allie are you saying the Pentagon was not hit at all by a plane or some kind of destructive force on 9-11?

    Half-wit indeed

  22. Anonymous Says:

Americans are entered in war after “attacks”. think about it : both war world, vietnam, iraq 90 and now iraq

  23. darklooshkin Says:

whether faked or not, the facts are that it happened. it cost 3000 lives directly, started two wars and is the justification behind most countries’ increasing of counterterrorist laws beyond the boundaries of usefulness. it has cost america its position of power by driving fundamentalists into positions of political power as people sought an escape and found the worst one: religion.
American economic power is now dead. its political ideals have been shattered. the former position of protector of the free world is gone to other nations while America’s borders and contacts to the world beyond the Americas shuts down.
by giving in to fear, america lost and the terrorists got what they wanted. to the outside world it will remain an object lesson for generations as to what happens to people who fear terrorists. had there been no fear, america would have survived another crisis. this time, politics got in the way, and the yanks did not. good luck, america. hope that china doesn’t mind waiting for a century to get its money back…

  24. jpsycho Says:

    wonderfull

  25. Aussi Says:

I think you guys are overlooking part of the problem. Forget conspiracies for a minute. These were the World Trade Centers. Doesn’t that kinda mean that not only Americans worked there? So it was an attack on America, Americans died. So did others. While this was not on the scale of wartime atrocities this was unprovoked and horrendous. So why do I see none of you mentioning that? Some of you are practically saying we deserved this. Talk about all the evil in the world, but lacking any sympathy for the 3k+ that died could be a level of evil on its own.

  26. bluefox9er Says:

It never fails to dissapoint and amaze me that there are idiots who think what happened on 9-11 was a government conspiracy or a plot by america to use as an excuse to stage war on the middle east. 3,000 INNOCENT civvilians lost their lives in cowardly attacks engineered to maximise death and destruction, and even those whio planned it confessed to it, yet we have in our own free world idiots who refuse to accept what has happened and use it as a vessle to vaildate their own twisted political theories and ideals. to all those 9-11 doubters…do you realise you are insulting the memories of 3,000 people who were killed by an act of terrorism? why can’t you leave it at that? there is not a single shred of proof that this act was carried out by anyone other than islamic fundamentalists.

get a life, and if you really hate the american government so much, then try living in saudia arabia and lets see what happens next time you try and publicise your twisted and nonsensical political beliefs.

  27. Robbie Says:

As soon as I saw that 9/11 photos were on this site, I wondered how long until the Truther kooks showed up with their tinfoil hats. I never expected they’d have the first post, tho..

  28. Wingthor Says:

Holy shit, Tor never said anything on this one, guess his mum told him it was his bed time…

  29. D Lord Says:

    BlueFox9er…
Wow. More than a shred. Much more. Did you even watch the documentary or is the idea so “blasphemous” that you instantly disregarded it as credible? All you did was ***** and moan, At least I provided facts to support why I think we are being lied to. All you said was “no way idiot”. Make sure and call all of those doctors, scientists, and architects and make sure to tell them how dumb they all are.

    Tool.

P.S. Hoards of German citizens and soldiers were clueless about what their militarized government was doing to the Jewish people.

  30. S Says:

What do u do when your country has alot of internal problems… move the focus elsewhere.

  31. Nick Says:

our once great country does have a lot of internal problems. but i dont think our own government would do this shit. but no matter the case 9/11 is still a very sad day for this country, same with the day bush “won” office. well “cheated into” is a more correct phrase.

  32. daurey Says:

Mhm. Kill thousands of people by flying two planes into the twin towers. Then fly another one into the Pentagon. And then make another one crash in the middle of a Pennsylvanian field.

Honestly. The US government sucks. But do you honestly think they’d do this?

  33. bluefox9er Says:

DLord…what facts have you presented to anyone? I havn’t seen you present one single item of ‘fact’.

I havn’t seen one SINGLE CREDIBLE piece of evidence so far to suggest that what happened in america on 9-11 was anything other than the work of muslim fundamentalists.

maybe you were one of those jews who were told not to go out that morning…lol

keep watching the documentaries, something will come up, and in the meanwhile you could also let us know where to photograph bigfoot and the lochhness monster.

    Ladies and Gentlemen:

    1. As to the mention of the Nazi German government and it’s treatment of the Jewish population of Europe (along with the homosexual population, members of the Communist party, the Gypsy population, anarchists, and anyone who generally did not conform to the Nazi ideal of humanity and government), every adult in Germany could probably attest to the fact that they knew these people were being imprisoned in camps, and could probably infer that their treatment was less than desirable. They may have not been aware of the specifics of the situation, but they certainly knew that all was not well for those who did not “belong” in the Nazi government’s policy (why else would so many German citizens work to keep people hidden and safe and to get them out of the country). To think people did not know this was wrong is to be naive and foolish. Just as it would be naive and foolish to think that the general American population was not aware of the “interment” of Japanese-Americans during that same period and that they were unaware that this, too, was wrong. Granted, our treatment of our Japanese-born or -descended citizens could never be brought on level with Nazi Germany’s treatment of their victims, but it is an analogy that I think fits suitably.

    2. To say that the U.S. government had knowledge that these attacks would happen and did nothing, or that they actually perpetrated the attacks, simply to go to war is absurd, in my book. What would they gain? In what way would this supposed plan by the government have benefited those in power or the nation as a whole, let alone the rest of the world? Even if the U.S. government had information of a possible attack, they receive loads of threats, intelligence, and tips on a daily basis that must be investigated and prioritized. If something seems unlikely, is not from a credible source, and/or cannot be substantiated, it cannot be expected for the government to actively respond to each potential threat. It could very well have been a case similar to the attack on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. The government knew the Japanese were planning an attack on some portion of the U.S. fleet in the Pacific (which was not only located at the Hawaiian base), but it was unlikely that the Japanese would chose a location so far distant from their own country and so difficult to successfully surprise attack (so we thought). In fact, most intelligence pointed to an attack further North and East than Hawaii, perhaps on a portion of the fleet stationed elsewhere in the Pacific (there were many options), and the intelligence also could not give conclusive evidence of a timetable for such an attack. The U.S. had not completely cracked the code of the Japanese. So, the possibility that the information available to the U.S. government to determine an attack ahead of time was significant enough for them to do something is minimal.

    3. Saying that the U.S. government is not competent enough to pull off something of this magnitude (and please, do not assume from this point that I believe the government is responsible for this act. I do not.) demonstrates an ignorance of the way the government works. So, then, does saying that the individual members of the governmental body have enough power, in and of themselves and their positions, to orchestrate an act of this magnitude.

    Fact ^ ^
As far as credibility goes, That was from a Physics professor at BYU.

So what exactly is not credible about that?
I wont even go into the architects of the WTC saying a plane impacting the side was included in the structural integrity. Now, even though designed to withstand a plane impact, does not mean it didn’t collapse from that.

I trying to be objective as possible here, because I dont want to believe that 9/11 was a inside job, but I can’t just deny FACTS that these people are bringing to the table.

    BlueFox9er - think then talk

As for the German reference, I was simply trying to point out that things are not always what we are told. German citizens were told that they were invading their surrounding neighbors because they were a threat to national security (sound familiar?)

So, then, does saying that the individual members of the governmental body have enough power, in and of themselves and their positions, to orchestrate an act of this magnitude.
    a. The U.S., along with every other major nation in the world and many of the minor ones, has, at at least one point in the last 100 years, participated in an act of terror against another nation or political organization. You have only to look at a reel of microfiche at the local library to learn this. We don’t call it terror when the government orchestrates it, but it often boils down to just that. It can be justified by millions, but it is what it is. The U.S. has certainly co-ordinated attacks on this scale (if not done in this manner), and evidence exists throughout the nation’s relatively short history.
    b. The decision to go to war, and the major action of a war, are not made by the President and his cabinet. Even the ones that are made by these people are made based on information given to them by people who are considered experts. This goes for all decisions made by the President. The information is collected by scientists, military intelligence, economists, foreign politics experts, etc. They are generally informed decisions based on the information given. Errors can most often be credited to misinformation. That is not to say any of those political figures is without fault, but they are not solely to blame. Congress must declare war, Congress must enact laws (and, you’ll recall, can even overturn a veto when they disagree with the President), Amendments to the Constitution must be ratified by a majority of the states before they are enacted. And the reasons for going to war are never less than complex for a nation that chooses its battles carefully.

    4. The point of this site, I believe, is to show images that changed our world. It is not necessarily about what happened when the image was taken, but what the sight of those images put into motion. Right or wrong, these images rekindled feelings of nationalism in many, conspiracy in some, and sadness, pain, and awe in nearly all who viewed them.
Regardless of what you think happened, you cannot deny the power of these photographs or the feelings that they incite in you or others around you and around the world. The shock, the horror, the disbelief, the grief for the loss (loss of life, loss of sense of security, loss of faith, loss of trust). Facts and truth do not change anything after the image has been taken. The image immediately shows the past, and it cannot be undone. What we do from here on out is what counts now, nearly 7 years later.

  38. D Lord Says:

I forgot to mention the BYU Professor only talked about the actual physics of the collapse, not anything about Philip Zelikow. He simply stated that what was included as to the CAUSE of the collapse is physically impossible (remember Bluefox9er, dude has a doctrine in physics). He wants a explanation that makes sense.

  39. D Lord Says:

Oh, and I don’t recall saying anything about this not being Islamic Fundamentalism

  40. D Lord Says:

The only thing I found even coming close to that is in my first post about the third line. I mentioned that there could be evil people holding powerful positions in our government ******* with us. That is a suggestion, these people with Doctrines ( PhD = credible) are saying what we have been told as to HOW the towers collapsed is a lie. I should have been more specific.

  41. D Lord Says:

I said what I wanted too. D Lord, OUT
(Sorry for the quadruple post, its ridiculous, but theres no delete option, and BlueFox totally misinterpreted what I was trying to say, partly because of my wording)

  42. Joan Kelley Says:

I am a New Yorker and lost friends in both attacks. I know twin brothers one who resided in New York at this time and one who was at Georgetown in a doirm room that viewed the Pentagon during the attcks. His pictures of the event were shown on the BBC and other networks. His brother witnessed the towers and the destruction. Thankfully they both survived but many others didn’t. Is this enough to go to war over? It is my fervent belief that no one who lost anyone in either attack would wish to see one more life lost in their honor- because life is too precious. Does the government look at it that way? As a survivor and activist of the 60’s I would say no- are they capable of spinning the web of deceit to get their hidden agenda fulfilled? Yes completely- but to deny that this ever happened denigrates the memory of those we loved and lost- and I am sure every last one of them would like to be here to say it never happened- but unfortunately it did. Would I ask that this country go to war because I lost someone in this tragedy? No I would not- There have always been evil people and evil people rise to power because they often have the conviction to become charismatic enough to be believed- and because they can spin a vision of what could be that is strong enough to be desired by those who need to feel superior in some way. Unfortunately often the good remain silent because they do not feel empowered by their convictions- everyone needs to stand for something that they believe in and not something that someone told them to believe in- otherwise I spent alot of time in jail in the 60’s for nothing because you all haven’t grown any balls yet.

  43. bluefox9er Says:

Joan Kelley, you make very valid and empathetic points. Whilst I agree that ‘going to war’ might not be what all the victims of that terrible day might wish for, equally the world, the country would expect some sort of proactive response.

I originally supported the war in Iraq until evidence was shown that we were hoodwinked as a people into believing a series of lies to validate going to ‘war’ with Iraq. Now I am disgusted that we were lied to in this way and even more disgusted that completley innocent women, children and men have been subjected to inhumae suffering as a result of these lies.

The only thing about 9-11 that really dosn’t sit well with me is the material fact that Osama Bin Laden is still at large. It’s common knowledge that OBL is in Pakistan, and with all the sophisticated survelliance equipment and local intelligence I am convinced the US government is intrumental in keping OBL *ALIVE* as clearly he yields more value alive than dead.

that there for me represents the true contempt this current administration has for it’s people.

  44. Bryan Says:

To the doubters, Popular Mechanics completely debunked the “Loose [Screws],” “Truthers” theory. I’ve been a subscriber to PM for years and, when politics enters into it, they are usually on the left side of the dial. The steel in the WTC towers did not “melt” any more than the Minneapolis-St. Paul or Oakland bridges did. If any of you have taken a basic chemistry class, you’ll recognize that heat weakens metals, particularly steel.

If the whacko “Truthers” are correct that Bush/Cheney arranged 9/11, then why did the convicted at the First WTC trials remark that the towers would come down. More importantly, why were 17 of the 21 highjackers from Saudi Arabia and none from Iraq?

Bluefoxe9er, you’re too smart by half. The US did not want to invade a putative ally to search for a fugitive terrorist who has grown impotent. Yes, it has been nearly seven years, but remember how long it took to find a far bigger terrorist/criminal, Adolph Eichmann.

  45. Melissa Says:

There’s a video you can watch on youtube about this incident.

It’s called “Loose Change” It’s over an hour long. But well worth it.

  47. Rebecca Says:

The planes flew into the towers. I know because I watched the second one hit the second tower. But I believe there were also strategically placed bombs inside of the building as well. They also flew the planes into strategic locations in the buildings to make the most impact on the infrastructure of the buildings I think.

  48. Rebecca Says:

I agree with bluefox9. If the government really wanted Osama Bin Laden captured, he would have been captured already. Technology is too advanced at this point to be able to hide out in a cave for years. If they really wanted to get into Pakistan and search for him, they would have. It isn’t like Bush is so diplomatic that he’s not going to invade a country to further his own agenda. OSL is alive because we need him to be, whatever reason that is.

  49. British Says:

There are so many different layers to this tragedy and I think there is a great deal that the American public and the world don’t know. Conspiracies do exist and we know this from past experiences, we do not know for certain which are correct but nobody should ever just accept anything you are told as the truth.
It is so important to always ASK QUESTIONS!

I don’t think Bush is smart enough to be responsible for 9/11 - also remember him freezing when he found out?

However in my opinion it is entirely possible that there are people that have more power than the president over the USA.

Things have been kept far too secretive i feel there are conspiracies surrounding 9/11 but not the actual event itself.

Did they suspect the attacks but failed to act on intelligence received, then causing the absolutely over the top reaction. Fear could really take away many peoples freedom and human rights.

It was a horrible day that should not have happened the human race has a long way to go before these sort of atrocities stop happening.

There are 2 last points as I have tried not to go on with myself,

The same number of children die each day in Africa and people are not in the same uproar. (Although I do realise that as things are we cannot help every1)

    but MOST IMPORTANTLY
If we got all the money that is spent on military power and gathered it together, we could feed and clothe every person in the world not ONE person excluded - Bill Hicks

  50. Anon Says:

By the way: to the skeptics and ignorant people alike, Politicians and governments have been shown and documented to stage attacks that kill hundreds of innocent people to justify wars in with other countries. This is probably the farthest you can go when trying to gain your countries support. It’s a common military tactic used by many militant leaders. Don’t think that just because something seems too evil, or that “someone could never do that to their people” doesn’t mean it didn’t happen. If you actually ask questions before accepting what’s fed to you through “credible” sources, you might learn a bit of truth.

  53. stopmotion Says:

Tor has not left a comment! Come on mate you’re slacking off!

This will sound harsh but, I think we all need to get over this 9/11 thing. It’s almost seven years ago already. We need to move on and stop making a big deal out of this like it happened yesterday.

But then again I might be heartless because when I heard about this, I just basically said, “Oh, where does mom live again?” Well, needless to say she wasn’t anywhere near the World Trade Centers, so I didn’t really care that much. However, I can honestly say that even if I did lose a loved one in that tragedy, I wouldn’t grieve for too long. Life is too short for that.

  54. darklooshkin Says:

hello, tinfoil brigade and patriot guys. the point of my last post (see further up) was to point out that whoever did it and whatever the outcomes are, the main problems it has created are still out there and remain fundamentally unadressed.
to the patriots: 3000 people died. we know. they weren’t all americans either. we sympathise,it’s tough, now focus on solving the problems created and the wounds opened. the knee-jerk reactions and fear of the unknown must stop, and you americans are the only ones who are in a position where you have to find a way to react to bad situations intelligently.

to the tinfoil brigade: post wisely. they are watching you. voicing your opinions makes them more eager to come and get you. you may know the truth, but keep it to yourself, lest the g-men drag you off to area 51 and feed you to the aliens.

oh, and boohoo? lesson learned by the japanese and (ironically) by the brains behind that little event called 9/11; do not troll americans. they take you seriously. watching an american confronted with sarcasm is like watching an illiterate child trying to unravel an Enron financial structure; it’s funny, but can be painfully so when the kid starts crying or the american starts hitting you back. So please, leave them alone over this subject. by all means, taunt them over bush, politics and other little nasties because, doubtlessly, they taunt themselves and each other over it too. but i think that 9/11 is one of those sarcasm things that gives them such a cutely constipated face that can be followed closely by dark, dark violence.

  55. good-ness Says:

For the record, more people did not die on September 11, 2001 than on ANY other day in history! Seriously. Yesterday marked 125 years since the destruction caused my Krakatoa blowing it’s top and the resulting tidal waves, which took approximately 36,000 lives in Indonesia (Java & Sumatra). 3,000+ people is a great trajedy, greater still because it was perpetrated by men, but it does not compare to this or many other trajedies in known history. Get your facts before you make blanket statements like that.

    More then ounce?

Yes, I am sure George Bush woke up one day and thought to himself “hmmm… how do I start a war. I know! I’ll get Osama to fly some planes into the WTC and kill thousands of people. Yes, that’ll do it!” Get real.

  60. David Says:

I believe the “attacks” happened. I am sorry and mournful for the loss of life. But I am 100% behind the need to find out the truth behind these events. The “Official Story” is bogus. I think that the evidence, and information put forth on the “Conspiracy” sites, boOks, movies, needs to be thoroughly reviewed, and tested seriously. To believe only the one point of view on either side of this is ignorant. But yes: ASK QUESTIONS, MAKE YOUR VOICES HEARD. QUESTION AUTHORITY. TAKE A STAND. We are the the government. REad your constitution. If we are not represented properly then get involved in the process. Become the government we are supposed to have. “Government, of the people, for the people, by the people.”

  61. buddhababy154 Says:

Photoshopped? Um, no. I live in downtown NYC and saw the towers burning with my own eyes. I’ve seen Loose Change and Zeitgeist, and although I believe the Bush/Cheney administration is wicked enough to have had prior knowledge of the attacks and let them proceed, I find the notion that they wired the buildings unconvincing. Most people have only seen pictures of the WTC and don’t realize how gigantic those buildings were. Placing enough explosives to bring them down would be an enormous job, it would be very hard to do surreptitiously, especially given that many of the businesses in the towers run around the clock. Look at the second picture from the top in this series. You can clearly see the top of the building on the left breaking off and falling away.

There is more than enough evil at work here to go around. Islamic radicals bombed the WTC previously, it didn’t take much to see they might try again. It suited the Bush administration’s purposes and 7 years later here we are.

  62. kerby683 Says:

D Lord, your alternate theory doesn’t add up either. You mention thermite and molten steel, so you must think they have something to do with a planned demolition by the U.S. government. The towers would have fallen in a much slower fashion if thermite was used, and the only products left behind by a thermite reaction would be indiscernible except at a molecular level from those left behind by burning jet fuel. And nobody is going to search through the wreckage for that. Anyone who has seen explosives used for demolition can tell that was not the case in the attacks: no noticeable light flashes, collapsed from top down, no sounds of explosions. The towers may have been designed to withstand a plane collision, but they were designed that way long before computers were used to verify such a design would work; the design was an educated guess at best.

Besides all that, it wasn’t necessary to start the war. If you recall, all Bush had to do for that was say Saddam was going to give nukes to terrorists. There was no connection between Iraq and the planes, a seemingly major oversight for a framed job. We didn’t have much (if any) reason to want to invade Afghanistan, so why’d we start there?

Finally, for every crackpot BYU professor you come up with I’ll find you five Ivy League professors who disagree. A dissenting voice does not mean a conspiracy.

Forget who you think did it, why it happened or the physics of how the buildings fell. IT HAPPENED and a lot of people died or were badly scared for life! Could people have a tiny bit of sympathy for those that lost loved ones that day? For all those who have anything negative to say about this event, you must not have experienced loss ever to be so hurtful.

    All LIES.

They put bombs inside the WTC hence why there was secondary explosions.

On all films, the planes look different, some of them have white planes, some of them are black etc.

Plus on all of the news reader’s camras, when the nose of the plane went THROUGH the WTC thats right, the whole ‘Plane’ went through it, it blacked it out as to cover the fake plane going through.

Blame the USA government for making this up for an excuse to fight IRAQ.

See, all of you are arguing about the wrong buildings. There’s no way to prove anything with Buildings 1 and 2.

I will say one thing that trumps all of your arguments: Building Seven of the World Trade Center was not hit by any airplane and was the furthest building away from the Twin Towers in the WTC complex, yet it still fell to the ground in free fall speeds. There’s absolutely no way for that to happen without explosives. I’m sorry. You can’t argue it. Building Seven, also known as the Solomon Brother’s Building, wasn’t even mentioned in the 9/11 Commission Report. That should be a red flag. For everyone. How can you still not have doubts about the official story, after so much lying from the official sources?

The scenario perfectly fits,… take down a building with 3k people then have some excuse to take control of middle-east, a place where British and U.S was jumping over each other to takeover.

The powers don’t need oil, except to control it. They have much more clean and powerful ways of using and obtaining energy. I don’t know if 911 was a conspiracy. I don’t know if it wasn’t.
Preaching something just because it’s the opposite of what someone you don’t like says is called blind racism. That’s how bad things start.

Yes, we all know it happened, we all know many people died, there were living, breathing people in that building that day who died horrific deaths.. INNOCENT people.

JUST like all the innocent people in Iraq, who are being killed in the war. Whatever you believe, its NOT right for people to be put through this, whether they are from America, Asia, Europe, Africa, or anywhere else, no INNOCENT person deserves to be killed. No one should be punished for other peoples doings. The point is, regardless of what you think, this shouldnt be thought of as REVENGE, PAYBACK, or FAIR. Its cruel, injustice.

Comment the pictures, not each other.

  90. gabeyld Says:

    To start off, some quotes:

“How can you have such little faith in humanity as to accuse a man of killing so many people and causing a country so much tragedy because he wanted a war?”

…So are you talking about Bush or Osama? Is it really any more unreasonable to suspect one or the other of planning this?

“Visit http://www.zeitgeistmovie.com, then go to sources (and dare I say watch the documentary?) And before you ask, yes I pulled most of my info from this documentary and another called “Loose Change”.

Conspiracy theories you say in disgust? I will trust these doctors, scientists, and architects over Bush and his cabinet ANY day.”

Unfortunately, or maybe not, it has been proven in various places that much of the information in Zeitgeist was riddled with errors, and although architects and scientists did speak in loose change, we must also realize that people are unconsciously willing to bend their beliefs or knowledge when they are in any overly emotional state.

One thing that I would like to point out is that so many people don’t seem to realize that whatever belief system you have about the whole event, everyone (apart from Tor) thinks that what happened was horrible. Some people have decided to be resistant to any idea other than “those damn middle-easterners hate us for being free!” and others refuse to believe that this could have been some strange anomaly of engineering.

I believe that the whole thing should have been looked into more intensively when all physical evidence was available (and not being turned into a ship), but I also think that we need to be less extremist in our ideas.

The most influential terrorists recently have been religious extremists; rather than fueling arguments where the only ideas represented are skewed stupidly to one side or the other, this occurrence should have made people come together in a peaceful forum to look at the whole thing objectively, making sure to get rid of extremist ideas.

Although I don’t believe everything that came from the 9/11 commission, I also don’t believe that we should just go to the average Joe who says he “knows it was the aliens because the voices told him so.”

In conclusion, everyone please try to take into consideration the views of others, and when criticizing ideas make sure you think about any flaws with your own.

    sorry for rambling,
    Peace,
    gabeyld

The worst thing of this event, was to see how racists Americans are… i mean… hey! they killed the’re own soldiers in Iraq to found petrol and 1 man. I mean… LOL. This is inacceptable. You know how many families lost their sons ? only to Bush says he killed a terrorist AND get petrol to USA AND says to his dad “hey dad! the man who kicked your *** in golf war! i killed him :D”.

This incident was HORRIBLE and may never happen again(9/11) but… where are your humanity americans? where? you all cry for this, but, your fathers didn’t cry for Japan when they got 2 atomic bombs home…. Citys where even TODAY people born dead or born like monsters….

Where in hell are your humanity ? i have many and many american friends and they’re so awesome! i know that in North america there’re excellent people who just want good to the world but… this is not sufficient.

USA today got the “elite” of almost everything a nation can compete, and since the WW2, USA got this power, USA just use it to destroy and cause problems… where the hell are the good boys ? those ones we see on action movies ? saving the world from anything ? or at least, trying to make it a better place…

Dont be suprised that the rest of the world dont like americans. The US trying to control the world with changing the history! And the problem is that the americans believe in this FAKE history. I know that the rest of them will never understand what really happened in the world wars, in israel, iraq or vietnam. They believe that they were the good guys. The successful of the US is that their leaders can control the people there, and keep them naive and sometimes, stupid.

For all the conspiracy retards out there- THERE IS NO WAY the attacks could’ve been pulled off by the government without a single leak. Hardly anyone would stand such a plan and warn everyone and their mothers. The video loose change is all circumstantial evidence. Grow a brain you idiots.
